For the past decade, a band of merry golfers, decked out in knickers, have gathered to play a classic round of vintage golf at The Hay.
The Hickory Sticks Open began as a fun fundraiser in 2010 and has become the flagship event for Pebble Beach Company Foundation each summer. Last year the tournament raised over $200,000 for programs and scholarships benefiting Monterey County youth.
Now in its 12th year, this sell-out event draws plenty of locals as well as eager players from across the country who want to test their skills with the old equipment — a humble reminder of the skill once required to score par. Legendary sports announcer Jim Nantz often makes a guest appearance and has announced playoff rounds to the delight of the players.
Tournament format is two-person best ball. The tournament will be divided into two flights (AM and PM).
Aside from the thrill of the game, players also enjoy world-class culinary treats from Hay’s Place, libations and signature cocktails from our generous corporate sponsors and sweeping views of the bay from Pebble Beach’s famed short course, The Hay.
